North American Promoters of Justice, Peace and Care of Creation

A somewhat historic meeting of the North American Promoters of Justice, Peace, and Care of Creation will take place in Chicago, Illinois, June 27 – 30, 2018.

The gathering for most of its history has been a work of the DSI (Dominican Sisters International). Sister Marcelline Koch, OP, of the Springfield IL congregation has been the sisters’ promoter since 2014 and was joined in 2017 by Fr. Brendan Curran, OP, of the St. Albert the Great (Central) Province USA as national promoter for the friars.

This year’s meeting, then, will actually have representatives of: the sisters’ congregations of the DSI: the friars from all five North American provinces; and the lay promoter of JPCC for the Central Province and North American (DLIPC) member of the International Council of the Laity, Mr. Joseph Komadina, OP.

Although there are no representatives of our nuns, this meeting will include the widest range of participation ever in the spirit and implementation of collaboration in our region.
